Do not be surprised by the look of this sofa. This is NOT a group of soft pillows or bean bags. Each component is an actual piece of furniture, with a wood frame and springs. Some reviews noted it as firmer than expect. I believe that is because they thought the components were just stuffed pillows. Instead, this is like sitting on a good sofa. The seat height is slightly taller than I imagined (the measurements online are accurate). We placed the sectional on a large shag carpet, so the pieces do not slip apart. On a smooth floor I assume that would be an issue as the separate sections do not attach to one another. We like this as it is easy to reconfigure the sofa at will. The colors are fantastic.
